Moving Sphere,

Now that you say that you don't have the problem when the feed is not live, I am thinking of another thing. My own system will hang if I have several RealTick screens following a heavily trading stock -- perfect example was Intel today (300MM shares traded). The more data that is coming into your computer the harder your cpu works. It can come in so fast that your cpu is 100% occupied with managing the incoming data and it has trouble finding time to do anything else so you get a hang effect. If this were the case though, it wouldn't be specific to opening an extra browser window.

Use the Resource Meter, but also use System Monitor to follow memory and cpu usage. You should probably be able to figure out what the problem is by using these two helpers if the problem is related to memory, resources or cpu saturation.

I can't answer your questions about Win2K and WinNT and multiple monitors, etc, but there's plenty of people on this thread who can.

What are you using for cpu and hard drive?

wily

MS,, there is a great program called TASKINFO2000 that can be downloaded at WWW.IARSN.COM .... It will give you all sorts of information concerning what your system and programs are doing as far as cpu util, memory, I/O's, and anything else you can think of.... you can download the shareware version, the full version is 12.00,,, a real bargain. Its the best system monitor program I have ever seen, and I've looked at a bunch..
