wow, I had no idea your scope of contributions was so far reaching! some of the topics you list look very interesting indeed - looks like I have some catching up to do this weekend! ;-)

re buying QCOM now instead of waiting for a better price, my reasoning is as follows:

1. I'll be using some margin, so need to minimize downside volatility risk;

2. I've already been trading QCOM with some success for the past 3 months and think it will continue to provide buying opportunities;

3. I'm nervous as heck about the overall market environment because of (yet) excessively high stock valuations - even QCOM to some extent;

4. My dutch/german heritage and midwest upbringing have instilled a powerful sense of thrift into me (so what if some people call it something else that rhymes with "heap"!);

5. As much as I like QCOM the company, it's management style and technology, there are other sectors of the market that I think have more undervalued stock prices (KLIC, KEM/AVX, NEON for example). Maybe I'm just a closet-contrarian, and more people are starting to like QCOM the stock again than I'm comfortable with? <g>

[I'm even going to look again at FMO as a value/turnaround play - sells at about a quarter of its book value and a p/e multiple less than 3!]

Best of success to QCOM traders and investors, but not to QCOM shorts. <g>
