panic_mob, a very good analysis!

However, may I bring forward two much debated concerns:

1) What do you think about the assumption that the PC will be outdated due to growing internet appliances? Will their mediocre performance be sufficient for the masses in China and India?

2) What will be the effect of the X-Box? Do you see the danger that almost every game developer will abandon the PC and develop for the X-Box exclusively, therefore eliminating the need to upgrade the PC for many people?

What do you think the impact of Via will be? It seems that the real target of Via's production is China. Intel and AMD provided a great opening for Via by abandoning $50 and under microprocessors.
