Gloop, I am sure that he wasn't referring to your friend directly, I am sure what he meant to say was "Gloop, you stinking cheesehead, you are a nutcase and don't know WTF you are talking about".

I'm sure that he will correct himself later.

As Jorj pointed out - my comment wasnt' directed at your friend.. it was more directed at the comment.

More to the point, I agree that artists should get paid for their music but distributors and promoters deserve to get paid as well. They put investments into these groups, get them airtime, get them publicity, get them noticed and they deserve to get a return on that investment. To have these guys spend all their time to make a band famous and then to have that band go to a Napster like site to sell (give away today) their wares is absolutely not right.

What you're saying is one of two things:
1 - the bands don't need promoters/marketers. I say they can't make it without them
2 - bands, once their famous should take all the profits and to hell with the promoters/marketers. I say that is not only ungrateful, but is simply wrong. Notwithstanding that they are under contract. If bands choose to not contrac then go to number 1
