Truly, I don't know what to make of this, but writing the Quran in blood? I don't think ole Saddam is in Kansas anymore. Of course his big mistake in the Gulf War was assuming that all Islam would rise up with him. Hmmmm.

- Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has taken delivery of a copy of the Quran he ordered written in his own blood to thank God for escaping unharmed from his long political career, Iraqi newspapers reported Sunday.

"The West has been holding back so far, but if this pattern of provocation continues, I’d be very surprised if we get through the next few weeks without some serious military action," a senior Western diplomat said.

Such action would likely involve major US and British air strikes on Iraqi air bases, he said.
