Children understand truth.....only as we age do we get the power to pretend what we see and hear is truth or fiction.
Children believe all they are told, that is different from understanding truth.

Children do not understand truth- they make horrible witnesses since they still engage in magical thinking. Children believe what they wish to believe, even if material evidence is to the contrary.

Many adults do this too, but luckily not all adults.

Philosophy is love of learning- if you think learning clouds the truth than there is nothing I can say to that. Exposure to the truths of others, especially through art, gives you the closest glimpse of the personal reality of another that you will ever get. The realization that realities differ, that one perspective is not the only perspective, strikes me as a great gift. I see no benefit to a closed mind. Ignorance holds no attraction for me, but of course I realize that tastes differ.
