Bernie, Diana: Having lived in Mpls, and been somewhat of a willing (read ignorant) victim of I.D.S. (aquired by AXP) in years gone by, this seems like typical tactics for them. I don't know, I could be wrong, but they always seem to come on strong with a good idea, and then mess it up by being greedy. I also never cared for their aggressive 'reps'. I have friends and relatives who have gone through that meatgrinder as well.

Regards, Steve

ps to Diana: Welcome to AIMland!

pps to Bernie: Any thoughts on PALM's earnings announcement today? My next sell is at 55 5/8. I was wondering whether to raise that a little, but now in aftermarket, it's trading lower. Go figure!

Good morning Diana,
Thanks for posting the latest info on Am.Exp. brokering. I think there's been some slippage with other brokers as well. As they say,

TANSTAAFL!

(There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch!)

Best regards, Tom

Hi,
Got a letter from American Express yesterday. Informing that "free lunch" was over. However there was no mention of no free limit orders and when commissions would be charged they would be $19.95 per trade. I'm more than a little confused at the differences between what I have received and what you have heard. I'll call them today and see what I can find out.
