All, I am sure the convertible issue ADI has on tap is of the top-shelf variety with a FIXED conversion price (that is key, as opposed to the "floorless" variety in which, AFAIK, the convertible keeps getting re-priced, resulting in a downward "death spiral." Keep in mind that EMC has gone to the convertible market more than once with much success. You may well be aware that EMC recently exceeded IBM in market cap. IMO Fishman is shooting for the stars and needs $$ NOW to bring ADI into a JUGGERNAUT that blows away our perception as to what a juggernaut really is!

Yes looks like ADI will take a hit short term, but if I see an opportunity to buy what is in effect a very sound corporate bond paying 4.5-4.75% dividend, with a de facto warrant to buy ADI in the future, I may go long the convertible too!!

Cheers
