Hi BV - if ADI is going to the proceed --- at least part of it --- to make acquisitions, it is likely some of them are pre ipo startups in the FO component arena. In light of her deal with NT in the MEMS space, she is unlikely to go head to head with the gorillas in this space, such as NT, GLW and JDSU. Rather, she is likely to find niche to leverage her expertise in analog and DSP. FO may be a momentum thing, but there is plenty of room to go. NT will likely to continue to dominate the higher bandwidth space, like 10G and even 40G, but ADI can leapfrog into 40G in collaboration with NT.

Just a non techie wishful thinking :)

best, Bosco
