Jay, I realize that you are trying your best, but it seems as the managment is not. Qcharts is so broken that it should be brought into the hospital for a major operation but instead it seems that all we as users (who depend on the data to trade our $$$ with) get is a temp repair with a box of band aids.......

I also think refunds are due.....

I wish I were Ray Bamer's auto mechanic.....he would have worn out a lot of shoe leather by now......

I think, the priority needs to be placed on the server farms and improving their bandwidth performance to keep up w/ the increased users....and then double those expectations!

now...I sympathize with all the complaints with data feed problem....only 75% Quote.com's fault....on heavy trading days like last Thur. Fri....all internet traffic slows and hurts us more....much of the problem are also on individual computers/configurations etc.

Jay:

You are taking a lot of flak from those users who depend on a reliable, high speed data feed to support their trading, but here's a qualified (and virtual) pat on the back from one reasonably satisfied user - investor and short term stock/option trader - who has been with Q-Charts from the beginning. I've tried other services, but none comes close in providing the service I need to support my own decision making.

That said, there's no question that the service has really deteriorated in reliability over the last several months, particularly at crucial times when markets are moving quickly and trading volumes are high. I realize that QFeed/QCharts was originally developed to service users with 56K modems, but it sure looks like you all dropped the ball and way underestimated the server load that would result, not only from increased numbers of users, but also as users upgraded to DSL/cable. My cable modem typically runs around 600Kbps (even though it runs at 1.5 Mbps on a loop to my ISP) because of general internet restrictions, but even at that speed you need an order of magnitude increase in server/load balancing capacity to service the same number of users.

I truly hope you guys can get these Comstock data feed and server restrictions worked out by 10/31 as you keep promising.

David T.

I do not want the refund, I want the data. The $100/mo is not relevant to me. (To other QFeed users: Our leverage is that we pay imho.)

Do you have any estimate as to the load the users running more than one copy of QCharts places on the servers? if it is significant, then why not limit each login ID to a single quote.com login?

I purchased MSFT at 61 today and upgraded from 40.10 to 40.11.

My daily chart now shows MSFT at $16,064 per share.

I just want to thank you, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.

I was running Q-Charts and several browser windows today when my DSL service stopped responding. I disconnected from the DSL and then reconnected. That usually solves the problem. I left Q-Charts open and all the browsers while I disconnected and reconnected. I was running BlackICE and after reconnecting, even though Q-Charts was running fine, I kept getting UDP port probes from various Q-Chart servers. That continued until I closed down Q_Charts and my DSL connection, restarted the connection and then restarted Q-Charts. After that it didn't happen anymore. I assume the servers where just trying to re-establish the old connect, not recognizing that I had established a new connection. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Bob
