Re: The above list leads me to believe that AMD won't just "pop" back to the levels that you expect after the Q3 CC. It will take time (months) to end this bear market. AMD will be bucking a "strong headwind" until then. After the semiconductor stocks stop being sold-off every time they show strength, AMD might get the valuation it deserves.

David,

And what makes you think this bear market will be ending in "months"?

Is it:

1) US Dollar collapsing causing all the foriegn money to leave the US equities markets?

2) Baby boomers reversing the trend from dumping billions in per week in retirement saving to pulling out billions per week after they are retired?

Let's just say I'm not as optomistic as you about this ending anytime soon. I do think it's possible to get a new high on the Naz before it's all over, but I have no doubt we are in for a long bear market which may or may not have already started.

Dave:

What separates AMD from virtually every company in your list is its ability to produce outstanding earnings owing to increasing ASP's and increasing units of production...

The market players have not yet realized that within the tech pool of companies, one stands out on the bases of products, execution and earnings, that being AMD...the Hale-Bopp analyst and his gang of adherents currently believe that because INTC is struggling then, so too, is AMD...Plain and simple, it is my belief that just isn't an accurate conclusion...My guess is that AMD's outstanding products, execution and earnings will become all the more apparent, in contrast to many companies included in your list, on or before AMD releases a 4th successive quarter of record breaking earnings...and, consequently, my guess is that an instant and significant upward revaluation on/by Oct 12 is not unlikely...
