That's interesting. My understanding was that Newt took the heat for Republicans not doing very well in the '98 elections. At least that was the public story at the time, he didn't make a dramatic confession like Livingston.

If Newt had a sense of shame, he would have never signed that $4-6 million book deal with Rupert Murdoch right after the '94 elections.
