geez...that's a sad story. very unlikely to happen over here...shootouts between authorities and their prey are rare. definitely no shoot-outs with gas thieves have taken place. in South Africa shootouts between various opponents are a pretty common occurrence. various taxi organizations are for instance constantly at war...it is not unusual for a taxi cum passengers to be mowed down by AK 47 wielding assassins from the competition.

OT Ice, pardon but I am known for being politically incorrect so I have to ask, "Why was a mentaly handicapped guy that couldn't remember to pay for gas behind the wheel of a gas powered 2000 pound piece of iron hurling down the street in the first place?" Sorry but this politcally correct stuff really gets my ire. To me it is like paying 120 years earnings for a tech company. Sometimes you just have to ask the obvious question of why are we doing stupid things. My ex-wife had a neighbor that was told she had a genetic abnormality and every other child she had would be born with Down's syndrome. She went on to have 5 kids, 4 handicapped and one normal. My tax dollars hard at work! FWIW - I am not trying to say a life should have been lost as that is truly sad but there should have been someone to say that he couldn't remeber to pay so he might not remember to stop at a red light, yield on an entrance ramp etc. I will go back into my hiding now.
