Chuck,

re: AMD and Intel

I think the big investors have a shoot first mentality right now.

I suspect that Q4 at Intel will be tough and they may well preannounce this in their conf call.

I fully expect spectacular numbers for AMD in Q3 and Q4 vs street expectations.

However if market get spooked that Intel is suffering and we are entering an oversupply situations starting Q4 we may see major drops in both companies.

And i dont see AMD as immune from Intelitis.

And unfortunately for AMD starting Q1 next year spectacular YOY gains become more difficult as taxes come into play.

regards,

Kash

Chuck, All, I listened to the PALM CC last night.

They made two interesting (from a perspective of this thread) comments that are worth mentioning.

They mentioned that gross margins were down a bit, in part due to increasing DRAM, flash and LCD prices. They also mentioned that they are still component constrained (though they did not mention flash particularly).

The second point was that they referred to a "large company that had warned about weakness in Europe".
They said that they are monitoring the situation, but as of yet have seen no sign of any weakness, and demand is still ahead of what they can supply.

I wonder what "large company that warned of weakness in Europe recently" is? Hmmm ;)
