Neocon--Let's get this clear. I'll defend anyone's right not to vote. But a national vice presidential candidate, representing a major political party whose very lifeblood depends upon a voting citizenry, who doesn't himself vote, in my personal opinion, Dick Cheney is not deserving of my vote, nor do I think is he deserving of yours. Bush picked the wrong man. As far as I'm concerned, not voting in 14 of the past 16 elections equivocates to a skeleton in the closet. Frankly, I think they just went with Daddy's opinion the Dick would be a good complement. He's not. Why? 'Cause Dick Cheney only votes in local, state and federal elections when it's convenient for him to do so. He obviously doesn't view it as a civic duty. Why do I think this way? Well, I've moved many, many times. And I go through hell to make sure I vote. I've missed only two elections since I became eligble to vote. I think my vote means something. Apparently Dick Cheney doesn't think the same way. Was the recent Republican Primary a close one? Remember, when a guy like Dick Cheney votes, so do several others who are influenced by a leader's behavior. Fact is, of late, he's been a bad influence on others when it comes to voting. Hasn't he?
