IBM had a license to manufacture Intel CPUs up through the i486. Come Pentium time, IBM had this crazy idea the PPC was going to bury Intel so they didn't pick up their option to manufacture it (Pentium). The PCjr chip was the same as the PC. A 8088.

They were WISE not to - given the "success" of the PC jr.

I picked one up a few years ago for my collection - chiclet keyboard and all.
