The term "working man" generally refers to a union blue-collar worker. But if you wish to more broadly define the term, that's your call. You know where I'm coming from, though, when I post such.

AP just reported Gore leading in Maine by 10 percentage points. That's a little surprising. I thought Maine was GOP country like Newt Hampshire. ??

In any event, gotta look at the state-by-state results in this race, not the overall popular vote.

Bush has yet to crack any of the big states, outside of Texas. His appeal is more Great Plains-ish; Gore's appeal is more urban.

He has a broad range of support, or he would not be doing well in the polls.......
