As I recall, when a house officer (certainly not moi) provided you with incorrect or inadequate answers to your questions, there were some kinda fumes arising from your ears.

Well, in fact, this was/is true on occasion. But since your memory is so slick, I'm sure you'll also recall that that only occurred when the resident was irresponsible or uncaring, qualities quickly revealed in some dumba$$ answer to my question. In an intensive care unit, it's important that my response be indelibly etched. You gotta protect the patients.

Of course, I sometimes got angry because of unduly high expectations on my part that weren't met. But after you and others of your ilk rotated thru, I learned to scale wayyy back on my expectations.

And hey, speaking of residents, that reminds me. The Anesthesia residents that weren't up to snuff and were disallowed from my ICU.........aren't they over at your place now? How's that working out anyway?????? Do any of them speak English yet????
