First, it may simply show the inadequacies of polling. But second, why should it be scary that people who have no strong commitment to either candidate should be swayed by a good showing on a talk show? That is natural. One thing that has been consistent in the past month is that over 60% of people polled think that either man would be okay as president. You and I may think that shows their shallowness, but maybe it shows that everyone is constrained not to wake the sleeping giant, and therefore must kowtow to the mainstream........
