'I don't think people really understand how great this opportunity is,' he says. 'It has almost no limits.' Does anyone else see quotes like this as a contrarian indicator? It seems that anytime anything is touted as "a limitless opportunity," it's about to fall. I hope it portends downtrends only for the short-term though. Related: does anyone remember sentiment on Cisco in the early 90s? I remember researching it around 1993, deciding it was way too expensive for me at a pe of around 40. :-) Anyway, I'm wondering if Cisco managed to grow "despite" extremely optimistic sentiment about the "limitless opportunity" of ip networks. ---- addendum. just read this thestreet.com blurb linked by someone, which seems to exactly reiterate what i say in the message above thestreet.com
