According to the article I read, LAS-CDMA would be 3 years out for feasibility. Still need value chain of equipment mfctrs and network support, by then 3G will be rather well underway. I noted INTC was partner in LAS...and recent negatory remarks by INTC towards the Q* lead me to suspect INTC now views Q* as a potential companion at their esteemed table, uninvited of course. Another consideration here is the turned-up volume of the FUDD. This is commensurate with the China//Korea//QCOM activities focusing on Korea at this time, so I would believe now is the time for more FUDD, so Chinese and Korean interests can drive best bargain possible. The more FUDD, the more I believe the competition believes that *they* have something to worry about....QCOM.

Trio -

Bear in mind that LAS-CDMA is in the process of being "converged" with 1xEV-DV(think CDMA2000/HDR) within the 3GPP2 (see CWTS Convergence Proposal) -->

All of this is smoke.

Standards are being harmonized. 1 standard - 3 modes under the OHG (Telecom Operator's) IMT-2000 3g3 Agreement proposal.

I suggest we're past the point where CDMA Standards flavors matter.
