It was ever the way of the Older Tribes of Judah to be the very epitomy anti-synchretism in their religion and dogma. From centuries before you have these wandering old testament tribes completely rejecting the gods and religions of all others they encountered. For all the centuries that followed, nothing but strife follows them both around (both jews and christians) so often lost in the din of those too busy with proclaiming it "our is the only way" , "the Only true god" "The King of Kings"....this is our land by our true God's decree... Lord what fools these mortals be, to cause such misery for the desire to hold the golden chalice....the last thing we all needed was another King of Kings, or Ceasar of Ceasars! But so christianity began to mold itself. A world held together by fear of invasion. If Jesus was here to teach , he came here not to be our Master....i care less for what those who would preach have to say. I listen still with my heart..it knows. Humble when it suited piousness, the most terrible force next to Genghis Khan, was Christianity when anyone stood in the way of their "truths"...even other christians, and especially the Jews were often trgts when no others were to be found. the more "Buddhistic" and deeply felt messages and essences of that lonely heretic/monk/prophet/reformer, that was meant to share the graces to the personal soul, was obliterated too often in the praising, shouting, fear and control . It was common for different tribes to identify with each others gods. Like the romans and the greeks ie Minerva /Athena , . Seeing your god and my god of wisdom were the same fascilitated enough understanding and empathy to have the chance for trade and interplay of ideas. This was not so with the tribes of Judah...they were as constantly at war thru the centuries.... as was Jesus probably getting himself thrown out of village after village . I would never follow a God that doesn't dance. That is why i would not choose to be a christian. The way and the light has still yet to dawn for some it seems, but they are catching on. Either it is a God of Love or a God of war ...they haven't truely ever decided which. Think of the spreading of Buddhism , faster and farther than any body of thought known before...from the teachings of a Master who lived to be 80yrs old, and it spread over empires and brought peace with it wherever it would go... what is missing in the picture here? regards, ;-) Mars (not god of war)
