Alex, I agree with you fully that we need to honor our promises to the elderly. You mentioned they had been promised cradle to grave protection. I don't think that should be. George Bush has the right answer, and it agrees with your thinking, that people should work to, independently, acquire wealth by saving and putting money to work for them. To put people to sleep by overpromising is terrible. Bush's proposal to allow people to invest 2% of the money they are now paying in FICA should go a long way toward creating independence. If you had money deposited and dedicated for one purpose and you converted the money and used it for purposes not designated you would be in jail. Unfortunately, that is what they do with our social security deposits.

I am not in the mood to answer you tonight. A 16 year old pulled her Pasad VW out in front of me on the way home. I slammed into her going about 50mph!

My poor Honda Civic! I loved that car!! It's crunched. I'm still shaky and my back is aching....
