Down 24 1/8 to 29 3/8. Worse than our horror show last week. Some saying on an Apple thread that their fastest CPU chip is 500 MHz. Unless they do the opposite of long pipeline CPUs, and get a whole lot of logic done per clock cycle, they can't be very fast in terms of benchmark stuff. OTOH, I've read about them beating much faster clock PIII PCs at stuff they can run in common.

Anyway, it's been hard for me to see for quite a while how Apple competes, what with practically all software getting released for the PC first, and it's always cheaper for the PC, and maybe it never come out for Apple at all. At Fry's, the Apple stuff is isolated from the PC stuff, and there never seem to be any customers around it either. Could be another leg down in Apple's history?
