Ten, Re: That really stinks

Among the recent events, I would say the Timna one is kind of neutral. It should be quite normal for any company to have multiple projects in development and canceling some as needed is the correct way for a responsible management.

The worst is the Europe woe(if that is the real cause) which just don't have a logical explanation at all. I kind of agree with JDN in his colorful post about this.

Ten:

I'm not a tech guy so maybe I am being simplistic, but I never could understand why TIMNA, which was a low end processor would use rdram, anyway.

Maybe the company felt that this part of the market would be better served by old Celerons at better manufacturing efficiencies?

Is this too wrong?

TIA

Tench - RE: "That really stinks. I was looking forward to it."

One good thing about the news from the past couple of days is that it looks like Intel is actually taking action. They caught the 850 chipset problem before it was released and are cancelling Timna rather than looking like fools if it were released had low MHz and performed like crap.
