darrell....not saying to put dollars into sunw....you brought up sun as a comparison....

"if a market can justify a valuation of sunw.....they should be able to justify a higher market cap for dell who is sitting at a two year low...."

i know you are frustrated as no logic applies, but the market does not dictate logic....

why sunw justify high valuation and not dell....as absurd as it may sound... "because"...

no logic, just perception, but whatever, it translates into reality....dell no longer in favor, it is under heavy distribution...until the distribution ends and accumulation begins it will trend downward...no smoke, no mirrors, a reality of the market...

you state msd is "hunting"........does he have the keen marksmanship to kill those who are perhaps better armed then him and into whose lair he must enter to engage????

"smiling mike" conquered a fledgling pc market where even the big players were not so deeply entrenched...he entered around a time when generic white boxes were as accepted as name brand expensive icons..he delivered quality at a much more competitive price then the standard bearers...

but will the same hold true in storage, servers, whatever....corporate buyers are deep into the likes of sunw, emc, csco.....

will "mikey" attempt to strike the fatal blow on price alone...if this is the case beare of a ricochet that might embed itself betwixt "mikeys" eyes.....

dell is a proficient assembler....a fast follower...using the wintel r+d to conquer....but in the pc field they are the leader...no one left to follow, except themselves...equity markets see this and ask "what's next"....lot of rhetoric about global domination, but recent initiatives fell short....

dell's asia growth exceeds 70%...."70% of what!!!!"....the billions have not the funds to spend for a pc...infrastructure non existent for internet use...so what is the farmer in the prc going to use his latitude notebook for?.....asia will not deliver the sales as most expect....it has been the "story" since the nixon era....too much geopolitical ideology to swiftly conquer...even for "smiling mike".....

so why is "dell the stock" trading below 31....conspiracy? prejudice? "the houses"?, market makers"?, big money?, none of the above?.......

quite simply, no esoteric analysis needed.....the bloom is off the rose...profits are being taken, money going elsewhere...whether you or i can justify it....

tis reality darrell.......

dell has had its run...."the king is dead....long live the king"

pc-centric dynamic has slowed.....
