60 fails today.

Since the all-time high, we have a pattern of lower lows (4, so far), and lower highs (3, so far).

People aren't worried about Greenspan any longer. No one is talking about the upcoming Fed meeting. Universal consensus: no Fed action for the foreseable future. (I agrea).

What people are worried about now is:
1. Hard Landing in 2001 (I don't think so)
2. a squeeze on margins causing profit disappointments, as costs (raw materials, wages) continue up, while companies still don't have any pricing power. (I think this will happen, but selectively)

Yes, Tito, your Riser Specialists take long vacations. The current vacation has lasted half a year, now. The big question, of course, is: how much longer? IMO, the Landing Experts work a lot less on the AMAT chart, than the Ascending and Descending Staircase Specialists. When this stock is not in favor, it doesn't go flat. It goes down, and it keeps going down, no matter what the valuation, until the news and sentiment changes. If this is the CycleEnd, we won't find a bottom till much, much lower. If this is a hiccup in the uptrend, then the sharp downward slide will convert to a sharp upmove (V-shaped chart), and we will go on to new highs.

Sign of the times:
I put 20% of my money into a OldFashionedOldEconomyManufacturer (CMH, a mobile-home builder), between June and August this year. Average cost 8.1. They are up, again, today. Now at 10. Maybe your Riser Specialists have gone to work at a different site (over in Valueville).
