"DEMOCRATS HAVE EDGE ON MORAL VALUES">>>>>>>>>>>Seems the deciding factor to the voters is that they like Lieberman more than they like Cheney...........looks like BIG OIL Cheney has hurt the GOP ticket. Well, Bush can go fishing on Nov.8th with Dickie off an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.......read all about it at washingtonpost.com

Excellent post. The Repubs on this board would have us believe that Repub presidents and Congresses are fiscally responsible, but, in fact, just the opposite is true. True fiscal management has occurred the past eight years under the Clinton-Gore peace-and-prosperity leadership team, not the previous 12 under the Reagan/Bush/Quayle "spend it even though we ain't got it" team. If Bush is elected in November, Trent Lott will persuade Congress that World War III is just around the corner and that 75 new submarines need to be constructed ... all in Mississippi.

<<Mr. Bush called for an additional $1 billion over
10 years for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps low-income people with their heating and cooling costs>>

What an evil man, not wanting poor people to freeze to death. You need a visit from Jacob Marley's ghost.

<<Expressing a concern for clean air, Mr. Bush proposed an investment of $2 billion over 10 years for research into "clean coal" technologies"....>>

It would be nice to burn some of the trillions of tons of high sulphur coal this country has.

David, how familiar are you with the form of live abortion? I understand they insert something into the uterus that causes the baby to deliver very premature before full development of the lungs so the baby will die from asphyxiation. If, in the last trimester, the baby has lungs developed well enough to breath on it's own they then just let it starve. This was disclosed on television last night on the O'Reilly report of FOX by a nurse who worked in the facility doing the procedure. They also disclosed the names of 15 democratic congresspeople who endorsed by their vote the procedure. Do you think this is barbaric?

You forgot the Maginot missile defense system. This turkey is going to cost $100-400 Bills (Dubya is not forthcoming about the price tag, just as he is not forthcoming about most of his programs and their price tags). Won't add one whit to the country's security, and will distract from those efforts that will.
