I got the impression that some think foreign inflows may be supporting the market. Those flows may not be as aware of the day to day market moves as those of us who take an active interest. Should the dollar become weaker, the theory goes those inflows may reverse and bring about those lows you mention. But would that be a 'buying opportunity'?

We are left to watch the future unfold.

Remember, demographics suggest that boomers saving for retirement may not easily be dissuaded from the 'easy' gains provided by equity ownership demonstrated over the past few years. That should support the market even in the face of negative fundamentals.

We also have the 'first 5 days of the month mutual inflow' support suggested originally by Bonnie Bear, bless her heart for pointing this tidbit out.
