Exactly. Some of 'em are great performers but none of 'em are good singers. Just imagine how great they'd be if they could sing too. Sammy Davis Jr shoulda stuck to dancing, Satchmo to playing the trumpet, etc., etc. Even Sinatra was a fabulous interpreter and a favorite of mine, but he wasn't a great vocal talent.

Singer/songwriters with bad voices shouldn't sing their own or anyone's songs.

I'm not sure if I agree with that.


Don't bother debating this with Merlin. If it's not Caruso or the Three Tenors, he won't listen to it.

He might listen to that Pat Boone version of Smoke On the Water, though.
