Anyone ever heard of Billie Holiday? Great voice. And lots of soul. That's why she stands out.

I love Billie Holiday’s singing. Still, I think that the subject of “good voice” versus “bad voice” is completely subjective. I respect the fact that you think she has a great voice. You have classical training and you have been taught to use specific parameters to determine what is “good” and what is “bad” in terms of vocal quality.

There are others who feel that Billie Holiday’s strong vibrato(sp?) made her voice not quite so terrific, but still undeniably soulful. I suppose it depends who is setting the parameters of what constitutes a “good voice”.
