Hi tg - practically, NT indeed has a huge advantage to win the managed service side of the business. Ideally, I think the service division has to stand on its own feet. To elaborate, if there is any truism in "customer is [almost :)] always right" at all, the division will deal with any vendor equipment dictated by the client. And indeed, there are many independent outfits or not so independent outfits who have managed a slice of the pie for their neutrality or not so neutral position.

My point? Yes, you are right that it is a natural outcome. And no, one should not think this is a given. Personally, I think NT has the size and know how even if C&W network contains other vendors' equipment. That is the best way to show her expertise, by knowing all sort of network equipment and managed *all* of the components as a whole. It is a huge responsibility and a huge potential to demonstrate her prowess. I mean, it is easy for Ford and Firestone to finger each other, it is not as easy to say "our expertise is network, bring it on!" :)

best, Bosco
