I wish Jerry would stop making unnecessary promises but you're right if amd is committed to new speeds every 6 weeks now they should deliver.

RE: They promised a new chip every 5-6 weeks until 1.5 ghz

AMD has a golden opportunity now with the P4 delayed, I think they should ship the fastest processor they can as soon as they can. My fear is that people will delay their purchase if the prices drop too frequently (i.e. every 5 weeks). I’m also concerned that there might be motherboard problems above 1.2 Ghz and any bad news (even if not relevant) hurts the stock price. AMD has been executing pretty well recently, I hope they don’t stumble before Christmas.

Doug,

</>They promised a new chip every 5-6 weeks until 1.5 ghz

The 1.1 Ghz Athlon was introduced five weeks ago today. So, we should see the 1.2 Ghz Athlon next Monday, at the latest, unless they have to slip that due to 760 chipset bugs.
