Joey,

Intel wont let mkt. share slip much past 20%.

Do you think Intel is willing to go to the red to prevent AMD from reaching 20% market share? That's what it will take IMO.

Joe

PS: 20% may happen as early as Q4

Joey,

I thought you understood, the true AMDroid hates Intel just as much as he likes AMD, so

If both Intel and AMD are down, it's neutral
If both Intel and AMD are up, it's neutral
If Intel is up and AMD is down, it's very bad
If AMD is up and Intel is down, it's fantastic.

Since the last one doesn't happen very often, they are on balance a pretty unhappy group.

John

Joey
stand corrected; I took the number from one of the reports that made a mistake of reporting 30% as current while it is expected to be by mid '01. Current 20% would give you 3653% and 400% (or 36.5x and 4x) which is not much better
