Ah, I can see it now. Hop in the nuclear powered car and head to the corner store to pick up some fuel for the nuclear powered lawnmower to mow the "back 40". :o

It would simplify nightlights - they would glow with a half life of 10,000 years ;o)

US Energy Strategy

I suspect nuclear power will be taboo for many years. But I suspect there will be many factors forcing nuclear energy back into being a central part of US's energy policy.

Hydrocarbons will not last forever and the US may end up needing to import increasing quantities of LNG just like crude to keep up with our demand.

With more and more of our energy dollars set to leave the country along with the our nation's increasing exposure to the whims of foreign powers is rather frightening.
