Exactly. The far right Republicans still think that Clinton was an ultra liberal. No wonder he was so succesful. The opposition didn't even know what they were dealing with, i.e., a seriously talented consensus builder who co-opted many moderate Republican positions including welfare reform.

clinton is such a liar, he would sign the bills because he had no other choice, fighting the ideas the whole time. After the law was successful, he would take credit and gullible dopes like you believed he was responsible. Granted the President gets credit, but anyone with an ounce of honesty has to admit clinton is the master of manipulating public opinion.knc

He co-opts conservative language as cover for his statist goals which are not popular on their own.

You are correct that the terms left and right are worthless. You are either in favor of more freedom for individuals or you are in favor of more government power. It really is that simple.

I thought many republicans used to cry foul that Clinton was co opting their ideas as his own, and now you call him a leftie.
