Flack,

Great post. Obviously I did not express myself well, because you misunderstood me about psychology.

You said, "Psychology may not be found on a balance page or in the earnings report but I believe that it is the essence
of the market and therefore cannot be dismissed."

We are in agreement here. I believe that psychology is THE motivator in the market today. I just don't consider it part of FA. Like Drbob, I divide analysis into four categories, FA, TA, MA, and PA.

You said, "But my real take on this is that the NAS is in serious trouble and the nets in particular."
------------
This is obviously true. But, the question is: Will the internets STAY down? I think not.
--------------
You said, "These blowhard types (D.W. and if you remember Kim Edwards of IOM) have had their day in the sun. As I stated maybe a year or more ago, these companies that rely on selling stock to generate income will be found out. They will be trashed. The hype machine may still be functioning but we’re now seeing that the institutions have shifted money into real companies - check IBD list of companies
making new highs... these are companies that have truly exceptional fundamentals, earn money and will continue to earn money without any pie-in-the-sky, “reorganizing” hoopla. Good companies don’t need to look for “any excuse” to rally.

The NAS debacle is freeing up gobs of money to move
into untarnished companies with real growth."
---------------------
Just so I don't misunderstand you, are you taking an "official" position that internets are dead and a thing of the past? Sure sounds that way. You may be right, but I think you are wrong. We shall see.

As for DW being a "blow-hard", this is the first time I have him accused of this. Most of the criticism I have heard of DW is that he doesn't work hard enough to get the cmgi story before the public, especially the analysts and the financial houses. If you are referring to his posts on the cmgi board, the "blow-hard" charge won't wash there either. He is very low key, and our main complaint is that he doesn't say enough.

Thanks for your comments. I know they came from your heart, and I know that you wish me well--as I do you.
Best,
