Good Morning JLA,

It looks like the partisan Democrats on this thread admire a pompous windbag personality. The debate reminded me of the Carter/Reagan debate. Carter may have won the debate in regard to spouting numbers, but Reagan came across as more professional and Presidential.

Gore's repeated sighs, and looking agitated - rolling his eyes when Bush spoke, demonstrated what a difficult partisan person he is to work with. He showed no respect for Bush as a person, and instead pompously spoke like a condescending second grade teacher. Obviously, Gore didn't realize the mikes were on when he was going through his antics. I'm glad they were, it showed what a difficult person Gore is to work with.

Also, his mindless sound-bite class envy pitch came across as phony. 25 times (I believe) he mentioned the 1% line...

The next debate should be interesting..I wonder if Gore's 1.2 trillion dollar tax cut, which grew to 1.9 trillion during the debate, will grow to 3 trillion by then? :)

Local polls in the Northwest on KOMO T.V. say Bush did far better in the debate then Gore. 59% to 41%. Since Washington is one of the states still up for grabs. That should be good news for Bush.
