Cisco's execs to customers: you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.

Cisco Sales: Something's fishy

The front page of this morning's Journal tears into Cisco Systems, with a front-right article that questions Cisco's conflict-of-interest policy. According to the article, a number of Cisco executives have gained equity stakes in their customers, gaining favorable "friends and family" shares at the same time that Cisco extended those companies credit to buy Cisco gear. Cisco says it has revised this policy, but the worry is clear; Cisco execs may have extended credit to unworthy customers in exchange for personal equity stakes. That's not good news for Cisco.
