Clinton has been President for 8 years. Your fears are not backed up by the facts of history

I disagree. I didn't say I thought Clinton would bring disaster and ruin on our country with his handleing of the military, I just said I didn't and don't have confidence in it (or more specifically that I would have more confidence in Bush). I think the history does back up my case. The military is less prepared now, and streched more thin, then it was when Clinton became president. Military morale is lower, and so is retention.

Scumbria and other political posters,

Bush/Gore/Bush/Gore. It doesn't matter. Neither of these guys has any conviction, each will say whatever it takes to get elected, and will not say anything that their market research teams figure could cost them votes. You are watching two competing marketing campaigns, may the best campaign manager and actor win. You are being manipulated, and you are falling for it.

There are better debates every day on these threads, these guys were afraid to say what they thought. What happened to candidates that had real personal convictions?

In the local political ads, they no longer mention if they are a Democrat or a Republican. Why? Because they are going for the maximum votes, and they know that a party association may cost them votes, versus their marketing message which (hopefully) will get them votes.

It's a pathetic joke.
