Neo, the biggest reason an individual account makes sense is simply this...

Currently, you can participate in social security for 40 years, then die on your 60th birthday and ALL the money goes to the government!

It's ALL your money to begin with, and your family gets absolutely nothing if you die. I call that theft.

Placing some of your money in an individual account, at least ensures your family gets a portion of it.

And that is exactly what Bush should say if it comes up in the next debate.
