My feeling is that no physician should abort a fetus passed the first trimester UNLESS there is risk to the health of the mother that would require termination

David, did your ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth require surgery?

Because in a nutshell, the above view corresponds with my own opinion on the issue...

There is no reason, other than a risk to the health of the mother, or serious genetic defect to the fetus, that would justify a 2nd or 3rd term abortion..

If the mother can't figure out whether or not to have her baby by the end of the 1st trimester, and in fact, by the end of the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, I believe THEN, the government has an obligation to protect both the health of the unborn child AND the mother.

And since PBA is probably MORE dangerous than a natural childbirth, there is simply no justification for it.

I'm glad to see that you have seen the logic of having some restrictions on elective abortion for the mere purpose of birth control.

Regards,

Ron
