You have admitted previously that your area of experience is microprocessor design, and that your lack of admiration for RDRAM is based on this knowledge. You seem to be missing the point that Rambus as an interface talks not only to the CPU, but also to the RAM, and that a successful memory architecture must consider chipset and motherboard issues as well as MPU issues.

So, while DDR sticks exist, DDR on a motherboard is still non-functional. I believe we will see single channel versions of it soonish, but while RDRAM can scale to multichannel configurations, DDR is not good at this. In fact it is so bad at this that I doubt we will see DDR ever taken above 2 channels (if it even gets that far) on a mainstream chipset.

Scumbria,
Yes, it makes you wonder why the DRAM producers aren't shipping any in the channel and are shipping it all to the one who doesn't even have a DDR product. LMAO.

Can you say FUD and vaporware? I knew you could. I mean, look who's writing this stuff. Jack "the FUD" Robertson, with "executives who declined to be identified". ROTFLMAO.

This guy has been wrong almost every time. Maybe I should repost the link where he said Almador will be here mid-2000. LOL.

If all these executives are so sure, how come and they "declined to be identified"? Is it because people would be calling them and asking them, "what have you been smoking", or is it because both executive(s) were from Micron talking out of the lower end as usual?

This FUD is getting outright transparent.ROTFLMAO.
