Eric, a "source close to Sprint" <vbg> (friend of mine who worked there and has since left to work for the Q*) told me some time back that AT&T has been purchasing small regional CDMA carriers and not switching them to TDMA. Speculation is they are "trialing" the technology. Sprint became aware of this, of course, because it was bidding on the same properties.

I'm not concluding any "immediate flip" is in the wind based upon this, simply observing with interest. IMHO it has never been a question of "if" but rather "when" AT&T would adopt CDMA, and at what point in the migration path.

BTW: Any new news from Lynette on this?

I've been keeping an eye (actually(both eyes)open for a follow up but nothing yet.

When Rod Nelson is booted out the door of AWE that will be the sign to start looking for a switch to CDMA until then don't hold your breath. He suffers from acute NIH(not invented here).
