Here in Colorado, we have found that despite the overall reduction of rural population of humans(reduced mining,timbering, & farming) an increase has been seen in attacks by wild animals.

Perhaps an even more pointed quote would be:

"Guns don't kill people, Predators attack & at times kill people - If we don't protect ourselves with guns."
