I don't shoplift and you probably don't either.

I did it once when I was thirteen while in a neighboring town. My mother was shopping in another store and I went looking for some board game that I wanted in a store a couple of blocks away. I found and then ran out of the store before the owner could do anything about it and went back to the car and hid it under a seat so my mother wouldn't see it.

I spent the next 2 years afraid of going back to that small town out of fear that I would be recognized and arrested. And since I didn't have a driver's license, I couldn't go back and return it by leaving it on the shopowner's doorstep.

But as you can see, even 26 years later, I still feel guilty about what I did.

Now why certain people don't share that kind of remorse, I really can't say. But I know that I don't want too many of them running loose on the streets taking advantage of people like us.

Regards,

Ron
