Blatantly belying his own rhetoric, it is now revealed that Junior Gore didn’t have any problem stepping on the interests of the "people" in coercing the "powerful" to hand over cash for the Clinton-Gore ’96 campaign, in return for a presidential veto of tort reform legislation. In early 1996 both houses of Congress overwhelmingly passed a comprehensive package to tort reforms to improve our legal system. This legislation included numerous changes to benefit consumers and preserve the right to bring a civil suit while discouraging the filing of frivolous cases. The powerful and wealthy trial lawyers vehemently opposed this bill, a fact not lost on President Clinton, who saw the opportunity to cash in. Enter Junior Gore, a.k.a. Al the Extortionist, who was assigned to dangle the president’s possible veto as bait in order to extract millions from the trial lawyers. This money was to be spent well in advance of the election in television ads controlled by the White House, in direct violation of federal election law, as a consequence of having sold out average citizens. So it is that yet another instance of the gross manipulation of our most sacred democratic process – free and fair elections – has only now been uncovered for all to see. And the means to this end was the apparent extortion of money in exchange for an official act to benefit the pressured donors. And this lowest, if not outright illegal, conduct was dutifully performed by none other than Junior Gore, the automaton who has proven once again how completely devoid he is of any semblance of conscience, any remnant of right and wrong, and any shred of morality. Instructed by his "greatest president in history" – Clinton – to twist the arms of the trial lawyers for campaign cash, Junior actually did it! He never questioned it, he didn’t hesitate, he just mindlessly executed the scheme. Add this one to the heap of countless, shameless acts of despicable behavior by the Clinton-Gore machine. It’s more of the same sorry legacy of disdain for the American people and for what we, as a nation, stand. This is further evidence of Junior’s part in their purposeful effort to thwart our legislative process in order to circumvent our election laws. Remember, the purpose was to raise millions to illegally coordinate the expenditure of Democrat committee funds early enough to destroy the reputation of Bob Dole before his presidential campaign even got off the ground. The predictable spin has already begun, by Junior’s campaign and the complicit mainstream media. They haven’t even bothered to issue new talking points, they’ve simply dusted off the previous ones: it’s old news; we’ve covered this before; nothing new here; we don’t remember these calls; and even if the calls were made, nothing improper was done; and so on. We see once again how very much Junior "cares" for the people and how hard he’ll fight the powerful: not one bit. It’s all for his own insatiable thirst for power over the people. * * * Dan Frisa represented New York in the United States Congress and served four terms in the New York State Assembly.
