NightOwl,

I don't think you read very well. Rambus is adding a suit "to seek injunctions to halt the sale, manufacture, and use of Hyundai SDRAM and DDR SDRAM memory". That is a much faster venue than the ITC one. End result is the same but the suit is that more powerful one. Plus the Virginia courts move much faster than California courts and a hell of a lot faster than ITC. I view this as a big advantage for Rambus.

So here is what was stated:

"The purpose for filing the change of venue motion is to allow Rambus to move this suit before one court with the pending litigation filed by Rambus against Infineon Technologies in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and to thus expedite the court proceedings. As part of this consolidation strategy, Rambus has filed a motion to dismiss its pending ITC complaint against Hyundai."

"In its response to Hyundai's complaint, Rambus will file suit against Hyundai for alleged willful patent infringement and will seek injunctions to halt the sale, manufacture, and use of Hyundai SDRAM and DDR SDRAM memory devices that infringe the Rambus IP protected by Rambus' US patents."

<<Glad to see you're keeping up with RMTR too. I wonder who will have the first SDRAM/DDR license with NEC's new JV? RMTR or RMBS? What's your guess?>>

Yes I bought RMTR and sold sometime when it was in the 20's.
For a profit. If It breaks support at 8 or so, it will likely fall to 5 or 6. I am not that good at these things, better ask Zeev for a better TA opinion.

If you think something is in the works between RMTR and NEC, please post it. I wouldn't mind owning RMTR again.

But if You are just speculating, then I will bet you a case of beer that RMBS signs a significant agreement with NEC before RMTR. Unless you have insider knowlege or inside rumors or something to base this otherwise silly claim on, this is a slam dunk in my favor.

Hi NightOwl; Leave it to the Rambus heads to find a way to paint Rambus' giving up on their ITC suit as a positive.
