I wonder if one can buy serial #1 and sell it as an antique piece of collection in 5yrs for double the mony. You mean like on the "Antique Roadshow"? These things are obviously being bid on by two kinds of people: those doing it just for the hell of it (the $2500 opening bid) and dot-com money people who have more money than they know what to do with. At least with a Mercedes S500 you get 9-12 months of making an "I am better than you" statement to those on the road around you before you have to buy a new one. Who are you making a statement to with a low-number SPARCstation? It won't appreciate in value. Wanna buy my 1984 Osborne I for $25,000? It's a collector's item. Mystery to me. --QS
