Lee:

The commercial insurers have been able to push through price increases. The reinsurers are also coming around but not as strong (premium rate increases not stock prices) and the personal lines are still week (rate decreases may have bottomed but we are not seeing significant increases). Also personal lines will take some sort of hit from the Florida floods (auto lines not homeowners).

With all the financial liquidity I'm still not sure if its safe in reinsurance and without a large CAT to soak up some of the liquidity I'd still wait to invest in this area (but notice how much of a run the sector has had since March so I missed the boat and take my comments with a grain of salt).

On generics they will win no matter who wins the election. FDA will cut back on some of patent extensions previously allowed to the drug companies. While I'm not a fan of the way the democrats seem to be presenting the issue on high drug prices some of the examples do seem to indicate the drug companies could use a little more competition. The generics seem to be the way to go.

LEE: This rally pop was a gift--flushed my account. The volumes have dropped off significantly today which makes me very nervous. Prices have been moving down on small sales just like what happened in the May drop. I have been observing the same behavior as you:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> From your post 32309
What worries me the most is the lack of selling. Looking at times and sales, there are only small blocks going off moving prices due to a lack of buyers. One stock I am trading actually is letting the small blocks move prices down then the big blocks come in and buy it all up hours later. At least for this one, it does appear to be under accumulation. I don't have the resources to check others though and feel it may be isolated.

We might be a bottom here but I for one do not want to chance it. Too much potential for negative news in the wings to drag this lower. If volume starts to dry up more, prices will go into the dumper. Getting out while I still have profits to play with. This is just too unsettling even for me who takes BIG risks and plays the market to the max.

I just have an ugly feeling there will be end of day sales from the buyers on this pop along with others. For the sake of those wishing to hold on, I hope I am wrong.

Looks like BVSN made a strong pop. What happened there? GH
